Timothy House Transitional Housing is set for those that are coming out of jail and/or prison. The transition house is based on the same principals and guidelines as the program itself and is really only different in that a man who is on probation or parole must have the full cooperation and permission to enter the program from their probation or parole officer. We do set up phone interviews for those who are incarcerated  as well as go and see the client if they are in a facility that is close enough to the ministry to do so. We are a non-denominational in-house Regeneration facility for men with drug and alcohol related issues. Located in the Hinton community ten miles north of Jasper in Pickens County, the Timothy House Transitional Housing offers a unique approach to treating these issues. It addresses spiritual issues and depends upon the healing and delivering power of Jesus Christ.

Though we often prefer to ignore the evidence, drug and alcohol abuse permeate our society. One out of every ten Americans are addicted to a chemical substance, with sixty percent of drug users living in the cities. The damaging effects of these addictions extend well beyond the individual and reach into the community. Alcohol and drug abuse are the result of a sin problem—not social problems– and are only effectively treated through spiritual transformation and inner healing. Change of habit alone will not bring deliverance. A change of heart is essential—and that only comes by the grace of God.

The Timothy House Transitional Housing facility is set for men that are coming out of hard situations and need a place to recover and become stable citizens. Our minimum stay requirement is six months and would ask that each man commit to this length of time upon entering the Transition facility. The Transition facility is a Christ Centered facility and through church services and other Biblical classes each man will be able to solidify their relationship with Christ, giving them the tools they will need to live a productive and healthy life.

Each man is given the opportunity to seek jobs appropriate to their skills. Each man is given a period of time to find employment once they enter the house. The entrance fees and tuition fees are paid by each man and is collected after he finds employment. They will work a regular day and return to the Timothy House Transitional Housing facility at night. They are required to continue all evening classes and activities. They also continue doing their morning and evening duties. The men work around the facility making improvements and doing general upkeep on a regular basis.
